R.I.P. Sherman Hemsley, 74
The star of The Jeffersons passed away of natural causes at home in Texas.
Hemsley first played George Jefferson on All in the Family, and then the spin-off The Jeffersons, for which he earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. In 1986, he played a preacher in the sitcom Amen.
According to police, Hemsley passed away in his sleep in El Paso, Texas.
